We each spend two-thirds of our waking hours alone in a white-walled cubicle.
Except first, we painted one wall day-glo green and the other traffic-cone orange. Then, we pushed each wall 30 feet in opposite directions and replaced the third divider with a wall of corrugated metal and a dungeon door. We continue to add more creatives, play pick-up games of pool and constantly dodge ceiling-fan propelled foam balls.
So, I guess, really, we don’t spend our time alone in cubicles at all.
In fact, it’s hard to imagine cubicles even exist when you step off the freight elevator into our renovated warehouse in MidTown Cleveland. We eat lunch on our roof-top deck, graffiti the walls of our break room, and dream of the day we can turn the water tower atop the building into our own outdoor advertising campaign.
We work in the type of environment that encourages creativity. It also makes our competitors jealous.
