At thunder::tech, our performance marketing team is about more than keyword research and Instagram ads. Our performance marketing team members are digital strategists, advertisers, analysts, number crunchers, researchers and communicators. This role lives within the Communications Department with digital strategy, social media, marketing automation, content marketing, PPC, programmatic advertising and SEO, but works with the entire agency on a daily basis. This role reports to the Cleveland headquarters, but can be remote as well.
Role Expectations 
The leader of this growing team will oversee a variety of projects, retained accounts and service areas. These vary from running pay-per-click campaigns and planning digital advertising to strategizing marketing automation flows. 
 
This role is for a leader who still wants to get into running tactics on their own but also knows how to coach and grow team members within the practice. The Senior Manager should also be adept at setting strategy and making recommendations to clients to improve performance and analyzing data and trends. Applicants must be able to clearly and effectively present ideas (verbal and written) and persuade others to test, optimize or change course to find success. 
 
This role reports to and works closely with the Communications Department Director to manage project strategy, client assignments, ongoing client/account management and other tasks as assigned. The Senior Manager will also be required to work with the Creative, Development and Account Services Departments on integrated projects. Having a creative eye when it comes to written and visual messaging is a plus, as well as being able to provide creative feedback to teammates. 
Requirements/Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of experience working with digital ads required; work examples may be requested
  • Prior management experience is preferred
  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Communications, Advertising or Marketing
  • Experience collaborating with different areas of a business or different teams outside of your own
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentations skills
  • Understanding of basic HTML and CSS language
  • Comfort navigating Google Ads and learning enterprise level optimization and ad buying tools
  • Exposure or experience with keyword research, understanding SEO concepts such as link building, local SEO, on-page optimization, etc.
  • A minimum understanding of programmatic advertising
  • Experience in Amazon or other marketplaces are a plus
  • Strategic and forward-thinking for the benefit of clients and the team
  • Organized work habits to streamline multiple account oversight and delivery
  • Self-starter with desire to continually learn and improve overall work, produce results and strengthen relationships
  • Proven success of a past endeavor based on user behavior, data, analyzation and strategic suggestions
  • Certifications are a plus (i.e. Google Analytics, Google Ads, Facebook Blueprint, HubSpot, etc.)
Responsibilities
  • Manage a growing team of several talented individuals and work to continue to build the team and practice
  • Strategically research, plan, execute and manage various clients’ paid accounts with comprehensive campaigns, projects and events while staying within the timeline and budgeted hours
  • Write, refine and manage captivating ad messaging for campaigns
  • Install, work in and leverage the following tools:
    • Google Analytics
    • Google Ads
    • Bing Ads
    • Google Tag Manager
    • Google Data Studio
    • Google / Bing Webmaster Tools
    • Google My Business
    • Social Media Ad Managers
    • Other analytics tools such as DoubleClick, SEM Rush, Ahrefs, Heat Mapping Software, etc.
  • Research, analyze and make recommendations based user behavior and data
  • Become familiar and acquainted with clients’ businesses and industries
  • Stay up-to-date on paid and organic digital marketing trends and distribute that knowledge to the team
