full-time content marketing specialist position available in Cleveland

The Content Marketing Specialist will be responsible for proactively developing strategic communications plans, audience messaging and content strategies for thunder::tech’s B2B and B2C clients. He or she will create engaging written content for internal communications, print and digital media, email marketing and public relations initiatives. Note: This role does not focus on creative or video content creation. 

The ideal candidate will be curious, strategic and willing to learn and apply new marketing skills to solve client challenges. This person will also have proven experience in writing for an assortment of purposes, including web copy, blogs, press releases, long form and print with the goal of driving measureable results.         
Minimum Education Requirements:
Bachelor Degree from an accredited university in public relations, marketing, communications, business, journalism or a related field requiring extensive writing skills. Specialized certifications (Hootsuite, HubSpot, Act-On, Google Analytics, etc.) are a plus, but are not required.
Qualifications and Expected Abilities:
  • 3-5 years of experience, work examples encouraged
  • Must be able to show content marketing strategy successes on either a campaign or ongoing project basis during the interview process 
  • Self-starter, adaptable, highly organized and able to work independently, as well as part of a team
  • Experience leading service development and comfort with addressing challenges directly
  • Experience in leading others, project management is a plus
  • Proven experience developing strategic marketing programs and collaborating with subject matter experts and team member to execute the program
  • Demonstrated knowledge of developing and maintaining website content and experience with various content management systems
  • Familiarity with SEO guidelines and keyword research tools (e.g. Moz and Google Keyword Planner)
  • Proficiency in proofreading and editing with a working knowledge of Associated Press style format
  • Knowledge of marketing automation platforms and strategies is a plus
  • Strong presentation, oral and written communication skills
  • Creativity, flexibility, and the ability to communicate and work effectively and efficiently
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good sense of humor (we don’t take ourselves too seriously)

Role & Responsibilities:
  • Goal-driven content strategy development
  • Audience research and identification,
  • Customer journey and strategic messaging creation
  • Campaign collaboration among cross-department projects
  • Writing goal-oriented blog posts, web copy, case studies, white papers, etc. for both internal marketing efforts and client initiatives in collaboration with SEO team
  • Manage editorial calendars to ensure timely publications, assign blog posts to writers and/or manage freelancers
  • Follow industry-related news and generate ideas, services and processes around trending topics
  • Coordinating the planning and execution of media relations in relation to client strategy
  • Email marketing strategy, execution and measurement in relation to client strategy
  • Partnership management including paid media content placements or influencer programs, event sponsorships and brand collaborations
