full-time magento developer position available in Cleveland

thunder::tech is seeking a full-time Magento Developer to join our growing Development Department at our Cleveland headquarters. Relocation package available.

The Development Department is responsible for the specification, programming, documentation, testing, bug-fixing involved in creating and maintaining websites for our diverse set of clients. 

In our department we have three teams consisting of application development, front-end development, and digital support.

We work closely with all departments and make web-based ideas come to life. From web development to responsive design to CMS database integration, we pride ourselves on great work and innovation. This position requires a motivated, organized and team-oriented individual who is proactive and has a desire to be the best at what they do.
Specific Responsibilities::
  • Researching, installing, and configuring various Magento extensions
  • Extending Magento functionality through custom programming
  • Building and testing for cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility
  • Development of architectures, applications and dynamic web sites
  • Design and management of databases
  • Assessment of current and potential projects from a technical point of view and provide input for cost and time estimates
  • Providing updates on the status of projects for both clients and management
  • Work in conjunction with various departments for the development of projects
  • Staying updated on current technological developments for potential use in the workplace
  • Presenting server side code to clients, training back end architecture upon execution
  • Primary Qualifications::
  • Experience building Magento solutions and authoring custom modules, M2 preferred.
  • Extensive experience with full-stack web development (Apache, MySQL, PHP)
  • Strong knowledge of client side technologies including HTML, CSS, and advanced JavaScript
  • Knowledge of performance, scalability, security, enterprise system architecture, and engineering best practices
  • Experience with responsive design and developing for mobile phones and tablets
  • 2-3+ years of web development experience with PHP
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science or Related Field
Expected Experience:: 
  • React, Angular, Vue.js, or similar javascript frameworks
  • Amazon Web Services
  • Unit Testing Framework such as PHPUnit
  • Writing acceptance criteria, especially using Gherkin
  • Wordpress
