The Performance Marketing Specialist will be a part of the Performance Marketing Team within thunder::tech’s Communications Department. The Communications Department develops and executes communications strategies in the areas of social media, performance marketing, content and public relations. The Performance Marketing Specialist will work closely with the Senior Lead Gen Strategist on client projects and with the Creative, Development and Client Services Departments on integrated projects and will report to the Director of Communications.
This is not an entry-level position.
Location: Cleveland-Akron area with the ability to be in the office two days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
Paid Campaign Implementation & Management
- Implement comprehensive paid search (Google Ads, Microsoft Ads) and paid social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.) campaigns, based on provided plans and guidelines from strategists.
- Develop and optimize paid social and paid search audiences to maximize engagement and conversions.
- Monitor campaign performance closely, identifying trends, opportunities and areas for improvement.
Performance Analysis & Optimization
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as ROI, CPA, ROAS, CTR, conversion rates and engagement.
- Utilize analytics platforms (Google Analytics, native platform reporting, third-party analytics tools) to gain insights and inform optimization.
- Conduct A/B testing on provided copy, creative and targeting parameters to continuously improve campaign effectiveness.
- Implement conversion tracking and attribution models to accurately measure campaign impact.
Collaboration & Communication
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, including Content, Creative and Web Development to ensure cohesive paid campaigns.
- Communicate campaign performance, insights and recommendations to clients through regular reports and presentations.
Budget Management
- Manage and optimize multiple advertising budgets effectively to maximize ROI and achieve performance targets.
- Manage daily campaign operations, including bid management and budget allocation.
- Provide forecasting and recommendations for future budget allocation based on performance data.
Learning & Development
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, platform updates and best practices in performance marketing.
- Participate in relevant training, webinars and conferences to grow skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
Technical Skills
- 2+ years of experience in paid search and paid social advertising.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field.
- Proficient in Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, Google Shopping Console and other paid media platforms.
- Effective understanding of bid management, targeting strategies and campaign optimization.
- Familiar with A/B testing and other methods to improve ad performance.
- Working experience with Google Tag Manager, Google Data Studio or similar tools.
- Foundational understanding of SEO and how it integrates with paid campaigns.
Soft Skills
- Strong attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple paid campaigns and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to clearly explain complex data and ideas to non-technical clients and stakeholders.
