full-time digital communications specialist position in Cleveland

The Digital Communications Specialist will be a part of the Communications Department and will be responsible for digital communications strategy and execution on behalf of thunder::tech’s clients. This role focuses on influencer campaign management and supports social media strategy and copywriting teammates. This position works out of our Cleveland headquarters with the option to arrange for remote work.

Our ideal teammate will possess a creative imagination and eagerness to learn. They should understand the parameters and goals of each project to create effective strategies for brands in industries ranging from B2B manufacturing to B2C travel and tourism.
Note: This role does not focus on creative or video content creation or paid digital advertising.
Role Responsibilities  
  • Develop and execute influencer marketing strategies and creative campaigns
  • Identify and build relationships with prominent influencers and thought leaders
  • Identify opportunities and develop effective communication strategies to enhance and extend brand awareness
  • Conduct self-lead research to identify strategies and tactics to support campaigns
  • Brainstorm new, creative approaches to influencer and social media campaigns
  • Write creative and compelling copy focused on goals and embodying brand voice for communications campaigns, websites and other marketing collateral
  • Effectively edit content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, usage, AP style, tone and brevity
  • Execute tactics using third-party tools and editorial calendars in collaboration with clients
  • Develop content ideas and write and curate content for social media with a focus on measurable results.
  • Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (UGC, original text, images, video, etc.) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community engagement for influencer and social media projects
  • Moderate all user-generated content in line with the moderation policy for each community
  • Collaborate with client departments (customer relations, sales etc.) to manage reputation, identify key players and coordinate actions
  • Create editorial calendars and content calendars for campaigns and ongoing channel content
  • Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information
  • Analyze and report on campaign or project success and present findings to clients regularly
Experience & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in public relations, marketing, communications, business or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience, work examples encouraged
  • Strong creative writing skills are essential
  • Proven experience developing strategic marketing programs and collaborating with subject matter experts and team members to execute campaigns
  • Personable and relatable to audiences and partners; having a well-rounded understanding of pop culture, history, trends and world news ideally in order to create timely content
  • Self-starter, adaptable, highly organized and able to work independently, as well as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail, highly organized and able to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
  • Solid presentation, oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of social media content and formats including video and photography trends
