part-time social media specialist position in Cleveland

Howdy! thunder::tech is an integrated marketing agency headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio. We’re searching for a part-time social media specialist to join our Cleveland team with 2-4 years of experience. This is not an entry-level position. The time commitment will be between 20-25 hours weekly.
The Social Media Specialist will be a part of the Social Media team within thunder::tech’s Communication’s Department. The Communications Department develops and executes communications strategies in the areas of social media, content strategy, marketing automation and email, SEO and content marketing. The Social Media Specialist will also be required to work with the Creative, Development and Account Services Departments on integrated projects and will report to the Social Media Strategist and the Director of Communications. 
Primary Qualifications: 
  • Ability to pivot and hit the ground running while juggling multiple different projects and deadlines
  • Well-versed in AP Style considerations for digital writing
  • Ability to present project work to existing clients and pitch new business to potentials
  • Organized work habits with an innate attention to details while working in an open and sometimes chaotic atmosphere
  • Strong drive to constantly produce the best work, even when there’s a limited timetable or budget
  • Effective time management skills with ability to multitask
  • Open to constructive feedback and being pushed to create the best work possible
  • Team player with strong communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Preference to listen to both new and opposing viewpoints on project matters
  • Self-starter with desire to continually learn and improve overall work
Specific Responsibilities: 
  • This role will support organic and paid social media and influencer marketing; the approximate breakdown may be:
    • 40% organic social – calendar creation, community management, strategy and campaign development, etc.
    • 50% influencer – campaign development, management, contract development and execution, reporting, day-to-day communication with partners, etc.
    • 10% paid social – ad strategy support, reporting and analysis, etc.
  • Strategically research, plan, execute and manage various clients’ social media accounts with comprehensive campaigns, projects and events while staying within the timeline and budgeted hours
  • Create campaigns, and content calendars and act as community managers for clients while adhering to brand standards and voice expectations
  • Execute tactics using third-party tools and editorial calendars in collaboration with clients
  • Moderate all engagements and user-generated content in line with the moderation policy for each community
  • Brainstorm new, creative approaches to influencer and social media campaigns and pitching them to clients with or on behalf of the team
  • Plan, negotiate, manage and report on influencer campaigns on behalf of clients using tools or original research
  • Actively seek opportunities to integrate social media content, campaigns and tactics into other marketing initiatives for clients and projects and likewise, find opportunities outside of social media projects
  • Support and implement social media advertising campaigns for all applicable channels as the team needs
  • Track, analyze and present metrics for organic and paid campaigns for client campaigns to prove successes and map pivot points
  • Create and manage internal processes for internal marketing purposes
  • Participate in strategic internal marketing planning, ideation and management
  • Work with the Creative and Multimedia Teams to create branded shareable images and videos that make consumers stop scrolling for both internal and external clients
  • Identify new digital marketing trends or insights that can help improve overall Communications Team services, as well as specific social media related skills
Expected Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations or marketing
  • At least 2-4 years of experience in communications field, preferably at an agency
  • Certifications a plus (Google Analytics, Facebook Blueprint, HubSpot, etc.)
  • Strong writing samples and examples of successful project work should be submitted during the interview process
