Modernistic:: Maturity Through A Clean, New Web Presence

How a redesign can accelerate brand maturity, drive user engagement and reflect your story.

Client Challenge 

In 1973, Modernistic emerged as a mobile carpet cleaning business, launching its journey from a single van. Since then, Modernistic has grown into a cleaning powerhouse that provides carpet cleaning, air duct cleaning and flood and fire damage restoration services throughout Detroit, Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Kalamazoo, Traverse City and cities across the state of Michigan. From homes to offices, their expert team has been dedicated to ensuring clean and safe environments for all their customers.  

While Modernistic adapted and expanded their services throughout the years, their website struggled to keep up. Given its outdated design and clunky user experience, it was clear their website needed an update. Modernistic had also transitioned their customer relationship management (CRM) system to SalesForce and wanted a site that seamlessly integrated their new CRM. As a Michigan web design agency, it was the perfect time for thunder::tech’s team to revamp Modernistic’s website, crafting it to align with their evolving needs and include a design with strong creative direction and heightened user experience.


The Solution

Considering Modernistic’s captivating story, we knew we wanted to include a nod to their humble beginning and use the van graphic from the company timeline featured on their site in the new design. However, we also wanted to reflect how Modernistic has developed over the years through more modern visuals and animations.  

In addition to forming a new creative vision, it was crucial for Modernistic’s updated website to integrate with their new CRM, SalesForce. This system helps gather important data about how users discover Modernistic's site, making SalesForce essential for their operations and online success.


Method

To address the original site’s outdated design and user interface, we completely innovated Modernistic’s site layout. We added eye-catching animations and transitional flairs throughout the entire site, including a playful footer.  Our creative team crafted the dynamic footer, drawing inspiration from Modernistic’s iconic van graphic. The redesign also includes some “Modernistic Magic” with an animation depicting before and after images, showing off the effectiveness of a thorough air duct cleaning. 

Next, our development team hit a major win by establishing a smooth connection between SalesForce and Modernistic’s website. Along with now having easier access to the CRM’s valuable traffic data, Modernistic also enhanced their quoting process with the new integration. The quoting process had previously lived directly on their old site, but with the help of SalesForce, quoting is now more efficient with pinpointed price estimates and tracked sales. 


The Impact 

In the end, thunder::tech’s hard work paid off. Not only did Modernistic receive an updated design more reflective of their story, but they also experienced better performance results for their website. With an over 5% increase in the number of organic sessions, Modernistic’s site saw an impressive surge in traffic. Keyword performance has soared across business-specific terms, showcasing the success of our SEO tactics. From thoughtful footers that enhance the user experience to a smooth CRM integration, we’re setting industry standards and helping clients like Modernistic elevate their online presence.
