Somewhere between high tea and happy hour, Trends & Tastings found its sweet spot. Hosted by thunder::tech and
Airfoil Group just outside Detroit at Meadow Brook Hall, the March 26th event connected marketers for an afternoon that felt insightful yet still approachable—which, frankly, was the goal. With discussions centered on AI-ready brands, trust, authority and the future of discovery, the event made space for the kind of honest, practical dialogue our industry could use a lot more of.
To set the scene...
Before the first session even started, Meadow Brook Hall had already set the tone. With its sweeping grounds, Tudor-style architecture and enough ornate detail to make every corner feel photo-worthy, the venue brought a sense of occasion without making the afternoon feel stuffy. It was elegant, yes—but still relaxed and exactly the type of place where good conversation tends to stick around.
Why this topic deserved a room
For all the talk about the future of marketing, many teams are still trying to answer some very present-day questions: How are buyers finding brands now? What actually builds trust? And how do content, reputation and digital experience work together when the lines between them keep getting blurrier?
This was the conversation Trends & Tastings was designed to host. thunder::tech and Airfoil brought marketers together to dig into the shifts already reshaping how brands get discovered—and what it takes to stay visible, credible and competitive in the middle of it.
Takeaways from the afternoon
As the speakers took the floor, the room felt alive with curiosity. Everyone was there to figure out the same thing—how marketing really works in a world where AI, reputation and trust are reshaping the rules.
Some of the key takeaways that had heads nodding included:
- AI isn’t optional anymore: Brands that don’t adapt risk falling behind, and every touchpoint, from content to reviews, shapes how buyers perceive you.
- Marketing is a connected system: Isolated campaigns no longer cut it. Each action feeds the larger ecosystem, building visibility, authority and credibility over time.
- Strategy and measurement go hand in hand: Aligning efforts across channels strengthens outcomes and ensures that the work being done today actually impacts tomorrow.
Marketing is a living system that learns, adapts and influences buyer behavior. By the end of the sessions, the room was buzzing with ideas for how to stay ahead.
The thinking was good—so were the tastings
When the networking and tastings portion of the afternoon began, the room was relaxed but still engaged. Guests moved naturally between tables, continuing conversations and sharing ideas from the sessions.

The curated spread of bites and beverages was, of course, a memorable part of the experience. Savory crudités with hummus, cheese, olives and artisan crackers, along with delicate macarons, kept everyone fueled. The free flow of coffee, tea and craft cocktails gave people a reason to wander and linger. Between the food and the setting, it was easy to keep talking and thinking.
Until next time
