    Episode Quotables

“The whole process has changed over time. It’s become more flexible, but also more rigid. Our pace was not as rapid and we weren’t as nimble. In the early days, we weren’t able to churn out as much content, but since we put a process in pace, the team is kind of rolling.”

“I’m giving a writer the ability to choose their own topic and it’s almost debilitating. It’s like going to the grocery store and there are 45 types of pasta sauce. We’ve tried to narrow it down to fit a specific category, determine where our research is and what the goals are, and we start to schedule those out. That way, it’s not so broad for the writer to get the right topic and we don’t have to do a lot of rewrites.”

“The conversations that we’re having, and that I’m having specifically from a new business standpoint, are definitely influencing what we’re writing about and who we’re writing for. One of our guiding principles here is education, so it’s important to have written content that’s going to allow us to follow up in a really knowledgeable and professional way with any of our prospects.”

“For us, knowing that a blog audience has always been and continues to be very hard to build and maintain, we use our blog post for education but also as a place for COPE to happen.”

“It’s been quite a few years since we’ve been blogging, and over time there has become more of a comfort level with having a personality with having and opinion and knowing that in order for our clients  and our followers in general to keep coming back, they need to feel like they’re getting some value from us.”
